Xenorelics - Visions from an Alien world.

The creation of the artwork is a star meditation. During the trans of creating I am connected to another entity, object or a principle from another world or dimension. The painting is guiding my mind and my hands. The gestures trigger associations like a rorschach test and my mind is trying to form them into 3 dimensional forms. It is a similar or the same world that Giger was connected when he created his paintings.

 

Atlantean Star-Meditation

There are stories of Atlantean people who did not need telescopes and spaceships to discover distant worlds. They used a so-called Star Meditation for envisioning those far places. It was a kind of intuitive meditation where they would concentrate on a specific star constellation and send out their “astral bodies”  to watch the distant worlds. 

 

My work I am presenting here is made with a similar procedure only I am using Art as a medium and the visions are manifesting in artwork. I make these artifacts in a creational trans. The process:

The gestures are intuitive. When I start I don't know what will be the outcome at the end of the work. I use a unique technique. 

It is a combination of gesture painting, airbrush painting and pastel drawing techniques. All is inspired by Giger's art, the creator of the Alien creature.  

After the real world material painting I digitise the image and with a height map procedure make the image push out into 3 dimensions and make a subtle animation as it would be a living entity. From closer it is a landscape 

I call these art pieces Xenorelics because they express the uniqueness of the original handmade art and the mysterious story of what they could be… Relics form an Alien world which can be from a distant universe or a different dimension. The process can be described also as Aether-archeology searching for relics from other worlds. Artefacts that can be Objects or entities sometimes both in the same time.
